Should I be embarrassed to go to speech therapy?
I have an oral motor problem and work on things to improve muscles of the language we use block of wax and lick peanut butter from the top of my mouth and everything. (quite funny), but its embarrassing when Massage expessialy my mouth and everything. What should I say?
Sounds really ridiculous, right? But I promise you that your speech therapist has a reason behind what to do. Marshmellow peanut butter or cream are common things we use to make oral motor exercises, such as making it more fun. I understand that some these may be unpleasant and embarrassing. If it's something we really do not like, ask him what to do or what the purpose of the exercise is. Sometimes, understanding why you do something, you can feel better about it. Forms Maybe you can think of other to get the same result. Just remember that you do for a reason. And finally, working on that you'll feel better!
