16 weeks with terrible headaches!?
This is day three of excruciating headaches. I can't get no relief! My caffine intake hasn't changed - I drink one cup a day (8oz only), as I always have. I don't take medicine usually, but have even caved in the last 2 days and tried Motrin (which my doc reccomended) to no avail. Tried pressure points, neck and shoulder massages, aromatherapy, and even cool compresses on my temples and the back of my neck, and it still won't subside. Any advice? Is this normal? I know I'm not dehydrated or undernourished - I've been drinking a gallon of H2O since this headache started!
I got terrible migraines with my son, and my current pregnancy is no different. Tylenol or Motrin wouldn't touch them, and I was eventually prescribed a narcotic. I was assured that what I was prescribed was safe in pregnancy as long as it was used in moderation, and only when absolutely neccessary. See if your doctor can't put you on something stronger that is also safe. I had to use Vicodin several times while pregnant with my son just to take the edge off my headaches. I hated the idea, but it was impossible to function without it.
